Nations Baseball want to welcome you to the 2009 10 & 11 yr old Select National Championship in Beaumont, TX. The National Championship will be played at the Incredible Ford Park. on July 12 thru July 19, 2009

Nations Baseball Select National Championship will offer a 5 game guarantee format.  Teams will play 2 or 3 pool play games. After pool play, teams will go into double elimination championship tournament, more than 16 teams, teams will then be placed into multiple double elimination tournaments and the winners of those will then advance into finals

 

NOTE: THE TOP 4-11 YR OLD SELECT NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP WILL RECEIVE 4 BERTHS TO COOPERSTOWN DREAMSPARK FOR 2010.

 

 

Your teams Official Roster must be entered on-line at www.nationsbaseball.com . Age requirements will be the age you are on May 1. (if you are 11 on May 1, you play in the 11 yr. old division.)

 

All players participating in the Select National Championship shall have photocopies of their original birth certificates in the possession of their team manager.  Failure to have a copy of the birth certificate available upon demand may result in the offending team losing the game, being ejected from the tournament, being placed last in the standings and forfeiting all awards, sponsors travel money and tournament berths that would have been awarded at the tournament.

 

Team's National Championship entry form and payment MUST BE DONE BY JUNE  28, 2009 to guarantee your spot in the tournament.  Your entry fee, in the amount of $595.00 must be received by this date to insure your entry into the tournament

NOTE:

 

1.      Players can only be one team in tournament.

2.      Manager's and coaches must wear a baseball cap with team insignia and will be properly dressed (coaches may wear coaches shorts).

3.      While in the field, as a defensive player, team caps must be worn.

4.      Metal spikes are prohibited in age groups 8-12.

5.      A full-use batting helmet which covers the top and back of the head and the side of the face must be worn by every player while in the on deck circle, when at bat and while on the bases.

6.      All bat boys/girls will wear a full-use batting helmets when their team is at bat.

7.      The catcher must wear all protective gear: mask, chest protector, shin guards, protective cup, catchers helmet and throat guard. Ages 8-12: Catchers must wear helmet that fully covers their ears.

8.      All playing rules not specifically covered above and in the tournament rules each team will receive, shall be governed by the National High School Federation rules.

Pool Play info and Brackets will be handed out at the coaches meeting on July 12. Games will start at 9:00A.M. on Monday, July 13.

 

Skills Competition will be on July 14 and begin at 6:00 P.M. at Ford Park. Competitions will include:

 

Roadrunner Event:                  Fastest around the bases         2 participants per team

King of Swat:                         Homerun Contest                    1 participant, 6 swings

Around the Horn:                   Fastest time                             8 participants

 

Tournament play will begin on July 13.

The top 6 teams in the upper tournament and the top 2 teams in the lower tournament will select 2

players that will named to Select National Championship team and those players will receive awards.

 

Admission will be $7.00 per person per day or $25.00 for a tournament pass.  For senior citizens and children (6-12) the charge will be $4.00 or $15.00 for a tournament pass.  This charge includes everyone except players and team coaches.  A maximum of 3 coach passes will be issued per team. Loss of pass by patron or coach will require the purchase of another pass. Teams are guaranteed to play for 4 days, the pass is the best value.
